Camping in the living room, and other essential childhood activities

Sometimes I feel guilty for not trying to make day to day activities more exciting  for my kids. They’re very easily amused, too, so I don’t have much of an excuse.

My mom always had fun and creative ideas (or so I’m told). I think of her every time I try something new with my girlies.

What we did this morning was far from extraordinary, but the kids loved it. So I think I shall make the resolve to try things like this more often.

Reprimand me if I don’t!

A tent!

They were so excited, that it was hard to get a clear picture at first.

But then they settled in and made themselves at home.

Crackers and crazy lips – aren’t they cute?

Their reactions this morning should be plenty incentive to keep doing stuff like this!

Light Subject Matter (pun intended)

I don’t really like to use the flash when taking pictures. Obviously it’s necessary in many situations, but I like to employ only natural light sources when possible. Our house has some pretty awesome windows, so I have alot of great opportunities to play around with different light throughout the day.

Here are some pics from around the house and a couple outdoor shots.

Silly Geese

Things that make me smile (and laugh)

Messy faces,

silly sisters,

fascination with puddles,

footprints,

serious toddlers,

pretty sleepers,

drooling grandpa lips,

and unintentionally hilarious expressions!
